Samsung Applications Store

Parent company

Samsung

Launch Date

September 14, 2009

Overview

Samsung designs and manufactures a range of handsets based on Symbian, Windows Mobile and Java operating systems.
An enhanced version of the Samsung Mobile Applications Store is set to go live on September 14th in the UK, France and Italy. This launch will then be followed by 30 further countries (including Spain and Germany).
The Samsung Mobile Application Store will be home to over 300 native applications on launch, sourced from developers like Gameloft, Electronic Arts and Handmark. By the end of 2009, Samsung expects to see 2000 applications available in its store.
The store will be interconnected with Samsung’s developer site, Samsung Mobile Innovator, and its marketing site, Samsung Application Store Seller Site, to form an ecosystem.
Samsung Application Store also provides a powerful application submission portal called ‘Seller Office’. Developers are able to submit their applications to the Seller Office ahead of the launch of Samsung Application Store.
Samsung Application Store Seller Office comes with a more advanced and user friendly service tool, enabling developers to distribute and monetize their applications to a great number of Samsung mobile customers, offering 70% of revenue share. Developers are also able to check the status of contents certification and browse the daily sales statistics.
