Description:

An evolution of our Packet Transport Networks conference will be taking place in Lisbon on the 26th-28th March 2012. Having delivered the forum for debate on transport network solutions since the very first SDH conferences, IIR’s market leading, operator led PTN event has, in recent years, addressed the most pertinent questions from operators and suppliers about migration to packet based, connection orientated transport solutions, and integration with the optical layer. But now the question is over what is next: what will the next evolution of PTNs be? What will future networks look like? And what are the right choices for your network? Evolving PTN will offer the valuable opportunity to influence network evolution choices of fixed and mobile operators. It is a unique chance to offer detailed guidance on recent technology advances, and take a holistic view on the working life of existing infrastructure, as well as its future development.

With ongoing growth in services such as Video, Cloud Computing and Mobile Backhaul combined with the fact that TDM architectures are becoming less efficient and cost effective, there is a great need to find the right direction for future network architecture development. Evolving PTN presents the opportunity to meet the people who will guide you in that direction.

Download Brochure Evolving PTN: an interactive conference This event presents operators with the opportunity to find solutions from vendors in an interactive, forum-style atmosphere. There will be three panel sessions per day, case studies, demos, as well as mini-tutorial breakout sessions. Meet the people with the knowledge, vision and influence to help you maximise the ROI on current and future investment in packet transport systems.  Event OverviewAs the economics of the TDM network architecture continue to deteriorate under a barrage of OTT data and peer to peer applications service providers throughout EMEA are stepping up the adoption of packet transport solutions to further reduce the cost per bit of transport. Find out how, why and how fast, at this unique business strategy and technology forum.

Your key questions answered at PTN:

What is the future of the NGN: Is a single converged approach the answer or will layering remain?
What are the the specific challenges of building networks that support cloud services?
Should you architect a Content Delivery Network for optimal delivery of on-demand video?
Is there a business case for deploying a Policy Control architecture across the network to take advantage of the network efficiencies of packet transport?
To what extent can MPLS-TP provide SDH like management and provisioning?
Do we need MPLS-TP? What is the business case for IPoDWDM; integrating optics and routers?
Who is addressing the challenge of running multi layer management systems: MPLS, GMPLS and ASON?
What is the success of MPLS-TP in enabling mobile backhaul networks?
Take this opportunity to develop a balanced view of the key implementation and investment trends for PTN understand the latest thinking on packet evolution strategies, key technology advances, systems developments, standards and deployment options.
