Last year at our MWC WIPJam, Guy Rosen from Onavo was one of our featured developer storytellers, and it's been great to watch the success Onavo has had since then with their data-saving apps for iOS and Android. We're happy to be able to share a guest post from Onavo's Chief Architect, Yuval Ariav (cross-posted from the Onavo blog), with some tips on how developers can put their apps' data consumption on a diet for the benefit of end users. Take it away, Yuval!
Yuval Ariav is Chief Architect at Onavo, the mobile data savings experts, where he is in charge of setting the company's roadmap from a strategic perspective. You can follow Yuval on Twitter, his blog or LinkedIn profile.

Having an effective testing strategy is an essential part of the mobile development process. But successful testing goes well beyond just finding bugs in your code -- it includes optimizing the power and data consumption of your app as well. If an app sucks a battery dry or -- in the face of usage caps -- pulls down too much data, it won't have a long life with users. Moe Tanabian from Intuigence Group, is a team of Wireless and Mobile engineering experts specialized in designing and testing engineering aspects of mobile and CE device User eXperience (UX) including smartphones, connected tablets, smart TVs, and in particular Android devices, stopped by to give us some insight and tips into how developers can make sure they're testing properly, and make their app as power-. data-, and user-friendly as possible.
