In the early days of the app store phenomenon, most attention was focused on the degree to which the stores solve the distribution problem for mobile developers. Gone (supposedly) were the days when simply getting your application out to end users was a major challenge, as app stores made it easy for nearly anybody to make their app available to the masses.
