Carnival of the Mobilists #166

Carnival Jam

The Carnival is always worth waiting for!

Welcome to #166 – the Carnival of Mobilists' one hundred and sixty-sixth post, which by my calculations means the Carnival has been active for over 3 years now. This is the first time WIP has hosted, although we have been an active friend of the Mobilists for almost since inception. Our conclusion – hosting and reading all the posts is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon with great reads! Enjoy…..

Our very diverse set starts with Dave Levy from Most Likely To Die Alone (just checking out that threat advisory system is worth a visit); where he takes a different twist on the mobile privacy debate and asks the question: "Will we, as audience members and mobile phone users, care nearly as much?"

Wading into the mobile operating system quagmire as he often does, Andreas Constantinou from Vision Mobile, goes behind the scenes to find out why LiMo is still catching up to Google and Nokia and why its effectiveness will be limited – unless LiMo...

Carnival of the Mobilists #165: VisionMobile

Whoops! I took a step back into the past! This week's carnival is actually from VisionMobile who has the heads up on the great debate of whether or not smartphones are really the future. Also, a nice piece on whether the Windows App Store is better than the Apple App store (The Mac vs. PC never ends, even on mobile!).

Guess who is up next week for Carnival? That's right, its us. Stay tuned.

Time goes by fast when you're having fun, and even faster when you've got a lot of work to do! With only two weeks left, everybody on the WIP team is scrambling to make Mobile World Congress 2009 the best Jam yet. Low and behold, its Monday again and its Carnival time again. This week's edition comes from the guys at Mobile Broadband Blog, and they have quite a collection, even giving us some link love. It's definitely worth two looks. Until next time!

#157 Carnival of the Mobilists: mjelly

This week's carnival is all the way from London, UK from mjelly. This week includes a wonderful post of the week from Tomi Ahohen on his bit on The Nokia Decade. He takes us back to the days when Nokia first took over the reigns from Motorola as the largest phone manufacturer on the planet. After that, there are some other great reads about the mobile market, business models, and the latest in mobile advertising and marketing. The folks at Radvision will end off the month next week so get your entries in!

Carnival of Mobilists – last post of the year

For those of you not familiar, every week a group of mobile bloggers (Mobilists) take turns hosting and promoting the best blogs of the week. It's usually a great roundup of what is happening in our mobile community, so well worth the effort to check it out.

This week, and the last host of the year is C. Enrique Ortiz at About Mobility. Enrique does a nice job of summing up the posts ranging from technical, UX, 2009 predictions, and comments on how the economic crisi is affecting our small companies. A few interesting blogs on Trutap, a company that I have been pleased to be on the board of for the last year, and who has unfortunately given layoff notices to its staff, but still is working hard to uncover any last stones for funding or acquisitions.
