Parent Company:
Nokia
Overview:
Nokia connects content providers with consumers through a one-stop shop, the Ovi Store, which offers consumers relevant, targeted media through their social connections and their physical location information. Opened in May 2009, the Ovi Store is a scalable media distribution network unrivalled in size and opportunity, with advanced content targeting capabilities and monetization options that allow content providers and application developers to leverage the power of Nokia’s global scale in devices. Content providers, developers and the existing Forum Nokia developer ecosystem can upload their content at publish.ovi.com to distribute their media through the Ovi Store.
Nokia plans to introduce local languages and content for its Ovi Stores in Brazil, China and France before the end of 2009. Nokia will also be looking to introduce more devices with access to the Ovi Store and to extend its mobile billing scheme. By the first quarter of 2010, Nokia hopes to have more than 20 Ovi Stores with localized content, languages, and operator billing in the native currency.
