Device Capabilities API advantages
This API preview provides a look at the AT&T method for responding to device capabilities requests with information that is specific to the AT&T network and AT&T device-naming conventions.
Information retrieved with this preview includes make, model, and firmware release of the device.
The Device Capabilities API enables applications to retrieve AT&T device information in an AT&T proprietary format. This allows future enhancement of the API response to include possible additional capabilities such as GPS/A-GPS compatibility, IMEI, MMS capability, and more.
